When You’re in college it’s not always easy to find a full time job. Even when you do find one it’s hard to juggle working a steady 80 hrs a week with a full course load. I’ve tried this myself and I know how difficult it can be. After trying this for a semester I decided that it was too much and since I didn’t want to cut down on my classes I chose to cut down on working as much. I tried to do the part time job thing but I knew there had to be an easier way. That’s when I discovered how to make money from writing. Writing was something that I would do all the time anyway so I might as well figure out a way to get paid doing it right? Right.

There are lots of different ways and resources on how to make money from writing. Lots of times people will hire someone to assist with their website, write their papers , and things of that nature. There are a good number of websites out that can assist you with finding these jobs. A few favorites and biggest are Scriptlance, , Odesk, and Elance. I have been able to secure a number of writing jobs through these outlets.

You can also make money on campus by writing papers for your fellow students. While this practice of writing papers for someone is considered by some to be immoral it is legal and if you’re good at writing it can be a lucrative opportunity.

The more you write the better you will become, remember the old saying ‘practice makes perfect’. I would suggest writing as much as possible so that you can build a portfolio to show to potential clients. If you are good at writing about certain topics that could help as well. For example if you like movies, there are ways to make money writing movie reviews. You were going to see that movie anyway right? Why not write about it and get paid? That’s a win-win. That is just one example of turning something that you love to do into a money making job. If you start by finding jobs that allow you to write about what you know well first then you will have better luck and gain more experience.

Not only can you write for companies online but lots of magazines look for freelance writers to contribute to their monthly publications. Once you have found that niche category, look into some of the magazines that cater to that group and you may find success there. You can also write and publish your own books as well. There are a number of options when it comes to writing it’s just a matter of finding the right one for you. If you are serious about writing then this could be a way of making some extra money that you can explore.

Some other sites to try if you want know how to make money from writing is lulu.com – a self publishing website

When you think of a financial planner, you think of someone who makes their living helping others learn how to spend their money. You may be now thinking, how much does the person who helps others with their money, actually make? The truth is that a financial planner’s salary varies greatly depending on just how much schooling they may have.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, most financial planners will at least have their Bachelor of Arts in Finance or Accounting, and will earn about $25,000 in their first couple years as a financial planner. After about ten years of work as a financial planner, their salary will reach about $100,000. Of course, the financial planners who begin writing books and appearing on television can even bring in yearly incomes in excess of $1,000,000 per year.

On average though, a financial planner will bring in between $25,000 to $40,000 for much of their early career. Once they reach the mid-level of their career, they can expect to earn between $47,000 and $76,000. Those later in their careers, and some with only a decade of experience, will pull in six figures and give seminars and more to pad out their income. Overall, the average income for all financial planners was $66,000 per year. About 10 percent earn $40,000 and less, and 10 percent earn $130,000 or more. That means that 80 percent of all financial planners earn between $41,000 and $129,000 each year.

It also depends on whether you work for a company, or work for yourself. If you work for yourself as a personal financial planner, the average salary is about $44,000 but can be as high as $114,000. About 10 percent earn $32,000 and lower, while 10 percent earn $145,000 or more a year. This means that 80 percent of all personal financial planners who work for themselves make between $33,000 and $144,000 per year.

So, if you have the time and money to get some schooling, being a financial planner can be a career that is satisfying because you help people, and financially rewarding because you can make a decent income.

When going off to college most people find themselves thinking to themselves or sitting in a guidance counselor’s office saying “ I need help deciding what career to choose.” If you are one of these people or if you feel this way then know that you are not alone. Most people have trouble or need help deciding what career to choose. This is not uncommon. Even after you decide what career to choose you may change your mind once you get into that chosen career. the key is to find something that you are passionate about and use that as a guiding light to your career choice.

Often people get stuck in jobs or careers that they hate – making life a living hell for them. Studies show that majority of heart attacks take place on Monday mornings. Why Mondays? Well it’s the day that most people return back to work. Other research tells us 1/3 of all employees hate their jobs. Finding out what you’re passionate about is absolutely necessary for your happiness.

There are many ways to find what you’re passionate about. One way is simply to take some time to brainstorm and write a long list of things that interest you.

In the beginning when you’re just starting to make your list, don’t think about things like how practical it is, or whether it’s going to make you any money or not – don’t think, just write.

Ask yourself these questions: Is there something you absolutely love doing? What do you spend hours reading about? What’s your hobby? What do you like to talk/read/research about? What get’s your juices going? What are you excited about? What do you love so much, you’d do it for free? What did you like doing as a child? What are you good at? What were your favorite classes or subjects in high school? And if you’re in college now, what are your favorite classes now? As the answers to these questions and more come to mind, write them down.

Once you feel like you’ve completely exhausted your list you can stop brainstorming and eventually you can begin to narrowing down your list to the top areas of interest for you. In narrowing down your list, QuintCareer.Com suggests that you should “ find a couple of obvious themes running through them. Don’t rush this process… contemplate. Make a final list of potential jobs and career paths”.

Once you have a few select items on your list, begin to do some research on how those things that you love most can answer the dilemma of I need help deciding what career to choose. Surf the Internet for possibilities, talk to people and ask them for ideas and suggestions. Find people either online or offline that are in related fields of your interest and quiz them about their fields and possibilities for a career choice.

Remember, there is always room for reevaluating your decision later on. In college you are allowed that trial and error period. I would suggest talking to an advisor if you feel that you can’t figure it out and still need help deciding what career to choose. There are all sorts of aptitude tests that can be taken to figure out what you are good at and what your interests are. These tests will then take that info and relate it to a particular job field, from there you can pick a career that you feel best suits you. These tests are not always on the money but for the most part they are pretty accurate in giving a general idea of what your interests are and helping you apply that to a career choice. Your school counselor would be a perfect person to talk to about this. There are a number of these tests available online as well, but I think that a face to face interaction with something as important as your future career is better.

So when the question of “I need help deciding what career to choose” pops into your head remember, think of something that you are passionate about and try to find a way to make money while doing it.

When I was in college, I was a movie fanatic. I would go to theaters and watch a movie everyday – sometimes even twice a day. I was such a movie addict that I would keep a list of the movies I had watched. There was even a year when I actually watched 350 movies in 365 days. I may not have watched every movie that was shown that year but geez, that was more than any of my friends could watch.

Because of my extensive knowledge in modern movies, I became a good film critique in my own right. I had a professor who would always ask us to write reviews of the movies shown in our university theater, which was always free by the way, or the tickets were sold at big discounts. I became a prominent figure in my class because he always appreciated my writing style and the way I critiqued movies, which makes me realize now that my professor could have been a big influence why I pursued a writing career now.

I never had any problems in thinking how to write a movie review because I was always an opinionated person. I was – and still am – a quiet person, but I never felt shy to write my own views of my experience. I was always an open book – literally.

Since I made it my mission to help college students in making profits to help them get through occasional financial issues, I have thought of putting down tips on how to write a movie review. Let me tell you first though that I may not be a professional movie reviewer, but I was trained for it.

The first thing you have to keep in mind before writing a movie review is to have an initial knowledge of the movie you are planning to see. If the movie features famous Hollywood actors, it is not just enough to recognize their name. Research about their previous works. Know why they were cast into the movie. Also, make a lot of research about the director. Learn what genre he is used to and if he had received awards prior to his latest project. Do not also forget to search for the background of the film. If the movie is based on an event or a real person, then study their history. You might get left out by the movie itself.

When you really want to know how to write a movie review, look at how professional film reviewers do it. They usually use one-liners (sometimes it could just be a word) to describe their overall conclusion. Know what these phrases are because you can use these in making your own movie review.

In order to grab the attention of your reader, you need to create a catchy first paragraph. Use a phrase used in the movie you think it would be known for. Describe how it impacts you or how it can appeal to other people. Since you are writing a movie review, you do not need to always use positive phrases. You can also quote lousy scripts that you thought brought down the movie. Knowing how to write a movie review is just like the film itself. It’s not just in the first paragraph. You want your reader to continue reading until the very last word.

Provide a little recap for your reader, but never disclose a big spoiler. You can do this, however, if you want to create a different style of writing, but warn your reader first. Limit the spoiler you will be disclosing to just about five to ten minutes of a scene. Most moviegoers do not like to be told of what they want to see. I bet you don’t like it either.

Lastly, you are writing a movie review so be honest. Unless you have been paid by the producers to advertise the movie, do not sell the movie by giving all the good facts and ignoring the bad scenes. You can encourage your reader to watch the film if it is really worth watching, but be neutral as much as possible. If you are writing about an X-rated film, I don’t think it is a bad idea to be frank of what you saw but just be professional about it. Being emotional about it is already creepy.

To be able to maximize your earning opportunity and have more readers, be the first on the scene. If there is a premiere night in your area, purchase a ticket right away. You do not want to make a review about “Titanic” because I’m sure that by now, more than half of the world has seen it.

There are several websites on line where you can make money writing movie reviews. One site is SharedReviews.Com where you can write about movies that are out on dvd’s. Just check out this link to see all the movie reviews that people have submitted and are earning money from. SharedReviews are not very clear about how much you earn for writing reviews but say they “allocate a certain amount of real cash for our community in order to reward contributors. This can vary from one or two thousand to much, much more depending on the programs, incentives, and sponsors we have in a given month. We always announce at the beginning of a given month how much will be given to the community and what the incentives are so you know what you’re working towards before you even start.” Just browsing through some of the user profiles, I notice that some contributors have earnings of well over $1000. That’s not a bad amount and can at least help you with paying for your books if you’re a college student.

Another site that you can make money by writing a movie review is AssociatedContent.Com where they accept all sorts of written content including movie reviews. To maximize the amount of money you make, you should try to write your review of the movie as soon as it comes out otherwise not too many people will be searching for reviews after that. AssociatedContent not only pays you anywhere from $2-$25 per piece but they also pay per the number of views that your review gets.

Lastly, another site where you can make money writing movie reviews is with Squidoo.Com. They make it easy with Squidflix an online tool that makes it dead simple to write a review and get it published. And similar in a way to AssociatedContent, they pay according to the number of views your review generates. Write a really great review and you can make a lot of money!

College money making ideas may not be as hard as you might think. If you know how to write a movie review you can make money money from it and we’ve just showed you how.

To date, it has 31,000 outlets worldwide and is being visited by more than 47 million people everyday. In the United States alone, it has over 13,000 outlets employing about 1.5 million people.

If you are a college student and is looking for a job to help you in your financial needs, what could be more appropriate than getting into a big company. McDonalds is probably the first company in the job list of many students. It is easy to go to any McDonalds outlet because they are just about everywhere. You can just go to any of the outlets and submit your application in person.

But we all know that college students are busy people. There are just about tons of things to study when you are in college so most of the time, students no longer have time for any other things. If you are really interested in applying for a job and to get that money to supplement your daily expenditures, then you need to find time to apply in person. However, it is just a hassle to groom yourself when you are not even going to be interviewed right away. The best alternative for that is to submit your McDonalds application online.

With the advent of modern technology, the Internet has been a rich source for almost anything. You can just use the worldwide web to submit your McDonalds application online. You can do this fast unlike submitting the application in person which will require you to walk or commute for several miles. McDonalds application online can be filed out in just a matter of few minutes.

McDonalds application online can be easily accessed on any location. You can easily find a job in an restaurant near you because the McDonalds application online will direct you to specific outlets in your area or any chosen city. Before you are able to access the McDonalds application online form, you will be allowed to choose what position you would like to apply for. If you are just starting, I suggest you choose Restaurant Crew first because that position does not require any previous experience, but if you have worked on related job before, then you can go shoot for higher positions like Hourly Manager, Assistant Manager, and Restaurant Manager.

To start off your job hunting now, you can go to McDonalds official career page at http://www.mcdonalds.com/usa/work/search.html.

An archeologist is someone who studies about different kinds of people and things they did in the past from the artifacts that they left behind. Examples of artifacts that archeologists study can be a variety of things such as beads and arrowheads made by Native Americans or or old coins left behind by an ancient civilizations.

When working on a site, an archaeologist uses many tools such as compasses and maps to find various locations. And to dig, He or she uses shovels and picks to dig small areas of dirt at a time. Additionally, they are very careful about recording everything they find and where they find them.

However, if you are thinking of becoming an archeologist yourself, it’s not as simple as just going out and finding some dirt to dig in! To be able to get funding for trips around the world so you can excavate cities, burial plots and more, you need to have some experience and training behind you.

From the comfort of your home you can operate a home business and earn $500.00 to $2000.00 per month on twenty hours a week or less. Get into the new millennium and the online community. Work smarter not harder. DOWNLOAD THE OPPORTUNITY TODAY. !

Depending on the field of archeology you are going into, the education requirements are going to be different. For example, some archeologists are what we call avocationals – they do it in their spare time as a hobby. Avocational archeologists learn a lot about the field by by reading up on the subject. They also more become members of archeological associations or societies.

But if you are going to get an undergraduate degree in archeology, then you will be trained in all the ancient and classic civilizations. If you want to work as a field archeologist, then you need to have a major in at least anthropology or history and a Bachelor of Arts or Science.

There are two levels of graduate training for archeology. The first one is a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree that adds about one to two years of schooling on top of the schooling for the Bachelor’s degree. At the end, a written thesis that is based on original research must be presented.

The second graduate degree is a professional degree. This requires two to three years of extra schooling on top of the Master of Art or Science degree. So, if you want to get a PhD, you will need as much as nine years of schooling. Once you have completed the schooling, you need to write a dissertation that contains original research in your specialization in archeology.

As you can see, if you’re wondering what does an archeologist study, then you can see that there is a lot involved depending on what you want to do and where you want to go in the field. Now go out there and find some dirt to dig in!

Many think of archeologists living in large houses, making millions off of their discoveries, but the truth is that archeologists make an average salary, depending on just how much experience they have. So how much does an archeologist make?

The average salary for an archeologist is $48,000, but this varies greatly depending on what company the archeologist works for, the industry they are in, how much experience they have and what benefits they have incurred. There are four types of archeologists, and each makes a different amount.

An archeological technician makes about $26,000 to $33,000 a year. In contrast, an archaeologist makes between $48,000 and $50,000 on average.

Take easy surveys that pay great!

For an archeologist with one to four years of experience, they will make an average salary of about $28,000 to $43,000 per year. If an archeologist has five to nine years experience, then they will pull in a yearly salary of $33,500 to $53,500.

Ten to 19 years experience will increase how much an archeologist makes, with most yearly salaries falling in the range of $39,000 to $51,000.
If an archeologist has 20 years or more experience, then they make the most in the industry with most experienced archeologists pulling in a yearly salary of $40,000 to $71,000.

Being an archeologist is a lot of work and often involves spending a lot of time going through the jungle, digging through the sand, and finding things that no one has seen for hundreds, if not thousands of years. It is a demanding job, but for those who do it, it is highly rewarding and not a job they would trade for anything else in the world.

The pay is decent, but the hours are long. However, you do not work in an office, but make the world your office, seeing things most people can only dream of seeing.

A well-paying, rewarding career doesn’t have to mean a four-year slog through college. There are plenty of jobs that pay nicely with less education, ranging from certificate courses just a few months long to two-year community college programs.

Education costs for most of these careers are modest — you might even pay nothing at all. If you’re from a low-income family and between 18-24, you may qualify to receive up to three years of free job training, housing and support services through the federal program Job Corps. National program director Esther Jacobs says Job Corps serves roughly 100,000 students a year.

“We’re the best-kept secret in this country,” she says.

Otherwise, state-sponsored technical and vocational schools will usually be a cheaper option than private training companies, and many offer financial aid. Most training programs will help you with job placement when you’re done, too.

Here’s a look at some of the best-paying jobs you can get into fast, listed with their median annual pay rate for someone with three to five years’ experience, according to PayScale.com.

Network installers, network administrators, computer systems administrators
If you enjoy tinkering with computers and wireless-network routers, consider this field. The business slowdown may have damped demand a bit, but it’ll rebound fast as the economy picks up, says Laurence Shatkin, co-author of “300 Best Jobs Without a Four-Year Degree.” Salary: $49,801.

Police officer
Law-and-order types who enjoy working with people might consider a quick career change into law enforcement. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports some police departments take candidates right out of high school and let them start with just a few months of training provided by the department, while others require one to two years of police-academy training. $47,485.

Court reporter
This one’s a great recession-proof career for those who enjoy courtroom drama. There’s great job security as the courts must continue to function in good times or bad, notes author Shatkin. $47,275.

Clinical laboratory technologist
Science nuts who regularly watch “CSI” might want to consider this line of work. Clinical lab techs examine tissue and body fluids under a microscope and test them for diseases. This field is expected to grow as new diagnostic tests continue to be developed, says Shatkin. Entry into the field requires at least a two-year training course from either a technical college or hospital. $47,081.

Heating-ventilation-air conditioning (HVAC) installer
If you enjoy working with your hands, this job’s got that, along with the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping people stay cool — or warm. You can earn the required certificate at a community college, private school or online (click here for a list of schools), and get started in just a few months. $44,814.

Computer numerical control
In areas of the country that still have a strong manufacturing base, there’s demand for people who can program the robots that do much of today’s assembly-line work, says Bryan Albrecht, president of Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. “You need strong analytical decision making skills, where you can diagnose a problem in a machine,” he says. $44,629.

Solar energy systems installer
This and many other “green” jobs are hot now, as the recently signed federal stimulus bill put billions into alternative energy and energy conservation. Albrecht reports classes in this field are filling up fast at his college, as a boom in installing solar panels is expected. $44,460.

Correctional officer
Working in prisons can be stressful and hazardous, so it pays pretty well. Corrections can also be a good option for those who want to work the night shift, as prisons must be staffed 24/7. The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics report on this occupation notes that local and state prisons may accept high school graduates without further training. $42,795.

Security and fire-alarm systems installers
Demand for security systems, Webcams and fire alarms is increasing, author Shatkin says, because the price of these systems is falling. The National Alarm Association of America says training can be done in less than two weeks and costs under $1,000. $41,417.

Aircraft mechanic
People who enjoy tinkering with their cars — and live near an airport — might consider this field, which pays better than automotive repair. Unless Americans suddenly give up their love affair with cheap travel, this field is expected to see continued steady growth. According to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics, roughly 170 schools nationwide are certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to offer the needed training, which usually takes between 18 months and two years. $39,584.

A business degree can open up many doors for you, depending on the field you go into and the major you choose.

If you want to know what can you do with a business degree you can get a Bachelor of Economics degree, which will allow you to work as an economist. This is someone who analyzes current and historic economic trends and makes recommendations to companies, organizations or governments.

Another form of business degree is Bachelor of Business Administration. With this type of degree, you can work in marketing, accounting, management and more.

A Bachelor of Accounting degree gives you the ability to work as an accountant in large companies around the world.

One of the most common business degrees is a Bachelor of Commerce, which allows you to work in a wide array of business disciplines, and gives you the largest ability to work in the business industry. This article on WikiAnswers list all sorts of jobs for someone with a degree in commerce including, international banker, mortgage broker and stockbroker. But with everything that’s going on in the economy, you may want to rethink these particular jobs for the moment.

Thinking about a business degree? Watch the video below and see how one man’s passion for business made lots of money.

Also, there are some trends that show that the level of business degree you have can dictate just how much money you make (although I don’t give a lot of weight to this because what you make really depends on a lot of other factors). For example, if you choose to get an Associate’s degree in business, your starting salary may be about $25,000 to $40,000 per year. If you choose to stay in school for the extra two years, then you can get a Bachelor’s degree in business and your earning power may increase by $10,000 with a starting salary of $35,000 to $50,000.

If you want to go even further and spend a few more years in school, you can get your Master’s degree in business. With this, you get a starting salary in excess of $60,000 per year.

Business is a diverse field and with a business degree you can get a job almost anywhere. There will always be business and the business world is always looking for people who can find new ways of doing things. Whether you specialize in marketing, accounting, management, economics or business law, you will find a job with one of the most solid degrees possible, a business degree. Know what you want and choose a career in the business field that you like.

Almost every gamer experiences the desire to participate in the creation of video games at some point in their lifetime. It all begins with a simple idea that you have; an idea that you wish you could just give to someone else to make for you. You might play a game, and after experiencing the horrible sound of it, you and decide you want to make one that is better. Some people are inspired by others successes such as the musical works of composer Nobuo Uematsu or Yoshitaka Amano’s brilliant art. So begins your adventure into the game industry; an industry that at a first look seems to be closed off from the rest of the world, until today.

START

Game industry jobs are not placed in official job banks of the United States of America as of today (though they are becoming more popular every year), and most people have to research tons of sites and books all by themselves, however with this guide you will be able to quickly assess where you belong in the industry and if you belong at all. There once was a day when almost everyone in the industry had entered by chance, when simply sitting in a game store would get them a job, but today that will not happen; there are many people after these positions, requiring much more out of you. The development teams have grown dramatically in size.

Level One: The Big Questions

The first thing is to decide specifically what you want to do. Do you like math? Do you have the patience to work long hours in the night trying to figure out why a character continues to freeze when he jumps in the air? Can you draw using computer software? Are you willing to spend time either at a game design school and the large amounts of money for them, or will you start at the bottom and work your way to the position you desire instead? Do you know any ways that you may be able to network yourself with members of the industry?

Click Here to Download Xbox 360 Games, Custom Xtreme Firmware, Software, Media and More with Everything4360 Premium XBox 360 Dedicated Downloads!

Level Two: The Different Roads

There are very diverse and specific positions available. Each position has different preparations for it, and each one requires that you have sharpened your abilities at certain skills. Without the required skills, your chances at the job become slimmer, and if you want to maximize in profit, you will want to be an expert at what you do, because a successful game means a big bonus. You might as well start towards that position as you read this so you get a competitive edge over others.

The Designers

Game Designers are known as the masterminds behind the flow of a game, or in some instances the failures (Bible Adventures we?????re looking at you). This field could require many things, mostly the person needs to be well rounded in other positions so they can organize and bring out ideas from everyone else and be ready to assist the other workers when necessary. You can find game design documents samples via search engine online, and then try and stay and focused as you complete one. After you finish the document, find basic game software program such as the popular RPG Maker, and see how well you can execute the idea to the program. If you cannot accomplish this task, you may need to look at other positions in the industry.

Average Salary Range: $43,486-$83,734

The Producer

The parents of the game companies workers. It is highly important that a producer is organized, or the entire project will self-destruct, as well the millions of dollars put into it. You need to work on organizations skills for this career before you apply, try to put yourself on schedules and budgets, make to do lists, and follow through to see if you can do them. Try out clerical jobs early in your life to get some experience with organization. Since their job is so crucial to the creation of a game, and they have to put in many hours to make sure everything is going just right, their salaries tend to go higher than other positions quicker. (Though other positions can make far more in the long run)

Average Salary Range: $60,802-$118,418

The Artist

If you are artistically gifted, you will find a big place in the industry. From animation to concept art, everything that the designer envisions needs to be brought to life by the artists. Those without default skills can sometimes pick them up in simple art classes or books, but beware of entering the industry without ability for you will quickly find yourself without a job.

Average Salary Range: $45,675-$98,896

The Programmer

Programming is no easy job. Most people realize this when they take a simple course of BASIC and realize that BASIC is actually not all that basic to the average person, leading to major changes. The in-depth engines that games have today with the power of systems, such as the Playstation 3, mean that every little detail needs to exist in a game, and lazily copying and pasting levels and codes will lead to no sales and ultimately no pay. There is rarely a case of someone beginning as a lead programmer, though if you attend a rigorous school such as Digipen University, you may be allowed to start as one. If you want to get a head start today, Digipen offers summer programs to kids for some large sums of cash that can teach you the basics, however if you want a cheaper route (you know you do), see if you can master C++ using available books, such as the C++ Primer. C++ is the basic language most programmers learn, and after learn it you should then decide whether this field is really for you.

Average Salary Range: $53,000-$121,000

The Composer

If you decide to become a composer, then music school would obviously be your first choice, unless you already have taught yourself how to use the musical software necessary to make games. It is one of the highest paying jobs in the industry, with the requirement of songs to loop in games and sound effects when actions occur. Composers need to be able to develop songs quickly to match the heavy schedule of games and tend to be out of the regular gaming world except to submit their work.

Average Salary: $51,370-$92,344

The Tester

When most people begin their journey in the industry, it begins with testing. As a tester, you can learn what really makes a game good and bad, which could ultimately help you when you climb to higher positions. Whenever you play a game from now on, think to yourself what you like and don’t like and begin to write them down on a piece of paper. After you finish, organize your thoughts to what can really improve the game, and you have just accomplished what a game tester normally does, except they do this in the early stages of games, when more glitches are present. If you can test games clearly and understand how they function, you may be able to also find work as a game journalist, but that is only if you can write well.

Average Salary Range: $24,797-$61,310

Discover how you could do the same thing and get paid a full-time job’s salary to play video games all day long.

Level Three: Absorbing Abilities

You really do not need to get an education in order to be involved in the game industry, however it will help you to show that you have a degree, as it will say that you have discipline, can work hard for something, and are intelligent. You will also make more money a year. There are special circumstances where going to school would be a good idea.

If you want to enter programming, Digipen has been known to create programming geniuses from their school and has special deals with many companies to help you get a job (many other gaming schools have bad reputations for their job placement promises). Be prepared for more math numbers than your brain may be able to process in a day and a very strict lifestyle for four years if you do choose to go to Digipen. As far as design is concerned, you could learn many of the same things at art schools such as Ringling School of Art, instead of going to regular game design schools that focus on programming. No matter what, if your education is going to be based on video games, be prepared to give up lots of money now or in the future of loans. Digipen is currently $63,756 without special fees and Ringling School of Art is roughly $42,152 a year without special fees. The good thing is that at this point and time, game companies don’t require actual game degrees, though one day it may become the case that they do, so just get a degree in something that you want to learn, and then take your place in the industry you wanted to enter at the beginning of your adventure.
