Everyone has images of being Indiana Jones in their heads, and while being a real archeologist is more painstaking excavation than actually outrunning giant boulder traps, there are still a lot of people who would like to go into this field. Many think of archeologists living in large houses, making millions off of their discoveries, but the truth is that archeologists make an average salary, depending on just how much experience they have. So how much does an archeologist make?

Most of us are taught at an early age to get a good education so that we can get a good job when we grow up. Our teachers, our counselors, our parents all have instilled these ideas into our brains to “Finish school, and then get a good job.” As a parent, I couldn’t think of any other lesson more valuable to teach a child. ‘Knowledge is power’, ‘a good education will open doors’, or my personal favorite “don’t be a fool-stay in school”.
Michael Dell enrolled as a biology major at University of Texas but spent more time fiddling with stacks of computer parts in his dorm room than hitting up the library. Instead of studying, he started selling new computers through advertisements in local papers.
