Everyone wants to make money doing something they love and that’s why many people go to college. They want to get degrees in fields that interest them.  But what do you do when you’re in college so you can pay the bills? Just because someone is in college, does that mean they should work at a job they hate? It doesn’t. This is why a lot of college students have decided to make money working somewhere they love, and for many that means working at GameStop. Game advisors are the ones who help people choose games and they even get to play the games so they know what games people will want. These employees make between six and eight dollars an hour with $7.06 an hour being the average. The senior game advisor makes a little more, between eight dollars and nine dollars, with an average of $8.23 per hour. In terms of the assistant manager, they make between ten dollars and $12 per hour, with an average $10.92 per hour.

Naturally, unless someone wants to make a career out of working at GameStop, most college students are going to move on from the store eventually. While the pay does seem low, it beats working at a fast food restaurant. For many, just being surrounded by games and being able to play those games is the best thing about the being a Game Stop employee.

The longer you do stay at the store, the more you will make. Eventually, you may be pulling in over $10 per hour at the store. It is also important to remember that some stores will pay more while others will not. The better a store does, the more you will be paid.
